St.Louis Grignion de Montfort is the patron saint and founder of the Montfort Brothers of St.Gabriel, who are at the helm of affairs at Montfort School, Perungudi.
Born on 30th January 1673 in a small town of Montfort in France, Louis Grignion exhibited an extraordinary love for the poor and the marginalised even from his childhood days. His undaunting faith in God and his devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary urged him to surrender himself to the service of God and man unceasingly
He served the poor and championed their cause althrough his life. His humility and the desire to be one among the poor and the beggars made him rugged, unpolished and savage.
As a great scholar, Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort had authored many spiritual books.His capacity to paint and carve along with his aesthetic skill had made him a spiritual 'Leonardo daVince'. He never hesitated to face the consequences of being truthful and doing what is right before the eyes of God.
St.Louis Grignion de Montfort was victimized by the world for his honesty and conviction, and he entered the heavenly abode on 28th April 1716 at an early age of 43. He was acclaimed a saint in the year1947.
A daring champion of the poor and an ardent preacher, St.Louis founded three religious congregations. One such organization is Montfort Brothers of St.Gabriel which is committed to follow his foot steps in imparting holistic education.
The flame lit by St.Louis Gregnion de Montfort continues to expel darkness even after 300years. Students and staff who enter the portals of Montfort endeavor to spread its light throughout the world.
